Tuna (maguro) is a staple in all sushi bars and is the most consumed sushi item in the world. The meat is extremely lean, mild in taste and soft in texture. Although this tuna can also be cooked or seared, our recommendation is to eat it as raw as possible to enjoy the true flavor of tuna. This yellowfin tuna will have a beautiful light red color and will have less tendon as these pieces are cut closer to the center of the tuna as opposed to the tail where more tendon is found.
Each order is vacuum sealed and preportioned out to .75-1.0 pound per package. These frozen saku blocks are boneless and skinless with 100% usage. Each block can yield about 16-20 pieces of nigiri sushi.
